Itinerary
Today on arrival Pickup, after breakfast proceed to Sarahan 100Kms 4hrs journey with on the way sightseeing of Pinjore Garden, Parwanoo Timber Trail, Barog Hills, Hassan Valley, Kufri, Kufri Mini zoo and continue drive to Sarahan. On arrival at Sarahan, check-in to the Hotel. In the evening attend Aarti and visit Bhimakali Temple which is 800 years old and one of the best examples of hill architecture and also one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. One can catch the breathtaking panoramic view of
the Srikhand Mahadev Peak from Sarahan. Night stay at Sarahan.
After breakfast checkout from hotel and proceed to Sangla via Kinnaur & Baspa valley known as the most beautiful valley of Himachal pradesh wih on the sightseeing of Tanda Pass, a dangerous pass to kinnaur carved through mountains, Karcham Dam. Kamru village and make a small walk to visit Kamru Fort which has a temple dedicated to Kamaksha Devi. Sangla a populous village, situated on the right bank of the Baspa River, is famous for its high fertile soil, at an elevation of 2621 m above the sea level and falls at a distance of 17 km from Karcham. It is built on a slope with the house rising one above
the other the scene being closed by the gigantic Raldang Peaks towering behind. Chitkul is a village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. It is the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border. The Indian Road ends here. The Baspa valley is the prettiest valley in the Himalayas. Its terrain and green vegetation on the slopes are not very steep. A populous village situated on the right bank of the Baspa is built on a slope with the houses rising one above the other with gigantic Kinner Kailash peak domination the scene. Overnight stay at Sangla.
Enroute we will drive you through Puh and Nako. We will visit Nako Lake and village and will have lunch in Nako. Later we continue our drive to Tabo en route visit the Gue village which is also the last Indian village on Indo-Tibetan boarder. Here we will be visiting the naturally preserved mummy of a Buddhist monk which is about 600 years old, which was discovered here while building the road. Later on, reach Tabo and check in to your hotel. Today we will be entering the beautiful Spiti valley which is also known as the cold desert of the Himalayas (this area is cut from rest of the world due to heavy snow in the winters).
After breakfast, checkout and we will visit the Tabo monastery which is the oldest
monastery in the Himalayas. Later we will drive you to Kaza (3 hrs.) Enroute we will visit the Mud Village, Dhankar village and Dhankar monastery & fort. Here we will have a cup of tea or lunch with a local family also visit Pin Valley National Park which is popularly known as the cold desert of Spiti valley and lies on the banks of the Pin River, from where it derives its name. Pin river is the major water body for wildlife and habitat villages around its banks. The Pin Valley National Park is a popular spot for wildlife enthusiasts and offers a chance to spot rare species such as leopards, ibex, musk deer, and also rare birds like the raven, pika, and griffon with other terrestrial animals. Later we continue our drive to Kaza where you will check in at your hotel. The evening is free to explore in the Kaza market.
Today after morning meal tour takes you to the Langza village famously known as the "fossil village" it is situated at the base Chau Chau Kang Nilda Mountain, also known as the Princess Mountain. Here there is an opportunity to walk around the village. You may wish to visit the monastery at the top of the village and look out for fossils on the way. Here you can also see the yak working in the fields or yak grazing in the pastures. If weather permits, we will take you to the village of Hikkim, which is known for having the highest post office in the world. You can send a postcard to your loved ones from here as a souvenir. After visiting Hikkim, you will drive to Komik, the highest village with a motorable road and is another beautiful village located at a height of 4587 meters and. This village is known for
its stunning landscapes and is a popular spot for photography enthusiasts. We will also have a visit to Key Monastery, which is one of the most famous monasteries in the Spiti valley. This 1000-year-old monastery is located at a height of 4166 meters and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. After visiting the monastery, you will drive to Kibber, a beautiful village and the second highest village located at the height of 4270 meters and has a wildlife sanctuary with animals having thick skin as harsh cold bears. You can explore the village on your own and interact with the locals to get a glimpse of their unique culture and way of life. Later on, we will visit Chicham Bridge, a spectacular bridge that connects Kibber and Chicham village and is the world's highest motorable suspension bridge located at a height of 4037 meters,
engineered across a deep gorge around 1000 feet in height. This bridge took a span of 15 years to construct. Night stay in Kaza.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will make a early start as the journey is long and you will be driven to Kalpa village (8-10 hrs.) Enroute we will stop at Recongpeo and will have a walk around the local market. Recongpeo is the district headquarters of Kinnaur district. We visit the Kalpa village and the nearby Roghi village. These villages are covered with thick pine forests and are famous for apricots and apples. The finest view of the Mt. Kinner Kailash Mountain (6000 metres) can be had from here. This is a spectacular sight early in the morning as the rising sun touches the
snowy peaks with crimson and gold light. Kalpa is situated at an altitude of 2759 m from the sea level, on the old Hindustan Tibet Road at a distance of 260 km from Shimla. Earlier it was the District Headquarter of Kinnaur. It is 14 KMS. It has all the characteristics of a heritage village. Kalpa came into prominence in the wake of British Governor General Lord Dalhousie's visit in the 19th century. Overnight in hotel in Kalpa Valley.
Today after breakfast we will drive back to Narkanda. On arrival at Narkanda we will visit the Hatu peak & temple (3,400 metres/ 11,154 feet) at Narkanda from where you can have a spectacular view0 of the mighty Central Himalayas and will also visit the traditional wodden carved temple
of Godess Hatu on the top . Night stay at Narkanda.
